Dabei fiel die Studie deutlich zugunsten der Google-Besucher aus. Die Klickrate lag dreimal höher als bei den Besuchern, die via Digg ihren Weg auf die Seiten fanden.
Das Ergebnis im Detail:
- Während der Studie lag der Google-Traffic bei einer CTR von 0,97%, verglichen mit 0,30% beim Digg-Traffic.
- Es ist also dreimal unwahrscheinlicher, dass ein Digg-User auf eine Werbeeinblendung klickt, als ein Google-Suchender.
- Technische Themen, die bei Digg hoch im Kurs stehen (Apple, Videospiele, Linux usw.) bekamen einen größeren Teil ihres Traffics über Digg.
Unterm Strich bleibt die logische Erkenntnis, dass sich ein erfahrener Internetuser der über Digg (bzw. hierzulande über Yigg und Konsorten) eine Website findet, deutlich seltener durch Werbung ködern lässt. Ob dabei die Bannerblindheit fortgeschrittener ist, oder AdBlock und konsorten häufiger zuschlagen sei mal dahingestellt, einem klassischen SEO sollte diese Studie aber gut in den Plan passen, da die Besucher, die er auf die Seite schleust, mehr Profit versprechen.
